FireSat
The first satellite constellation designed specifically for wildfire detection, monitoring, and response. FireSat will generate an unprecedented dataset on wildfire and its effects on the planet and our communities.

Built with and for the global
wildfire community.
For decades, firefighters and scientists have relied on satellites designed for other purposes — meaning critical data that arrives too late and a scientific record that hasn’t kept pace with the scale of the challenge. Earth Fire Alliance was formed to close that gap, and together with our technical partner Muon Space, we developed FireSat differently.
Through interviews with 200+ firefighters, incident commanders, and scientists worldwide, we built what the community asked for: frequent, high-resolution data delivered in time to act. The result is a constellation unmatched by any existing or planned satellite system, and a dataset poised to transform how humanity understands, prepares for, and responds to wildfire.

Data Products
.01
Hotspot
Identification
Catch fires early. FireSat provides near real-time detection of new or growing ignitions to identify small, low-intensity fires before they escalate into major threats.
.02
Fire
Perimeter
Know exactly where the fire is. A continuously updated common operating picture of the fire’s outer boundary enables safer, more efficient resource allocation and coordination.
.03
Fire Progression
Track how the fire moves. FireSat delivers situational awareness of spread, direction, and speed, which is critical for first responder safety, incident command decision-making, and evacuation planning.
.04
Fire
Radiative Power
Measure the fire’s intensity. By quantifying the energy a fire releases, FireSat enables researchers and land managers to assess ecosystem impacts, estimate carbon emissions, and understand fire behavior with unprecedented precision.
Protoflight
1 FireSatOn-orbit flight test validates system architecture and delivers sample datasets.
Initial Operational
Capability
4 FireSats
The first three operational FireSats launch in 2026, and by year's end will deliver data at least twice daily to Early Adopters across the world's most fire-prone geographies.
Constellation
Buildout
20+ FireSats
Global coverage will expand and data refresh will accelerate to 1 hour or less as additional satellites are deployed in stages.
Full Operational
Capability
~50 FireSats
The complete FireSat constellation will deliver persistent wildfire data with near real-time updates every 20 minutes or less, globally.
A Global Wildfire Record
Open DataFireSat will serve as the foundation for a transformative global repository of wildfire data.

Global Wildfire Data for the Public Good
Our vision is to make transformative wildfire data accessible to every fire agency, scientist, and community that needs it—because better data protects lives, communities, and ecosystems.
Fire agencies
Seamlessly integrate FireSat data into existing operational workflows, from early detection to safe response and efficient resource allocation.
Scientists & researchers
Access a first-of-its-kind global wildfire dataset for modeling, analysis, and discovery. FireSat presents new opportunities to understand fire behavior, ecosystem impacts, and climate change.
NGOs
Partner with us to help FireSat data reach under-resourced fire agencies and communities worldwide.
FireSat
Resources
Everything you need to understand, evaluate, and prepare to integrate FireSat data — from training materials, webinars, and data guides to sample imagery, fact sheets, and more.
